"Mastering the Diversity in Smart Buildings - A Practical Approach with openHAB"

The open-source project openHAB is a middleware, which allows the integration of different radio protocols, field buses and other devices into a single solution.

This talk explains the chosen abstraction layer and shows how syntactical interoperability is achieved, on which user interfaces and custom automation rules can be built. Additionally, practical experiences with the definition of a semantical layer are shared, which is the basis for zero-conf setups and the portibility of automation logic.
