Continuation of the Silicon Europe partnership

The Silicon Europe brand and collaboration was created within the project “Silicon Europe: Developing a leading-edge European Micro- and nanoelectronics cluster”, funded by the European Union. The Silicon Europe project started in October 2012 and will end officially in October 2015.

Within the project, six world-class clusters from five leading micro- and nanoelectronics regions have collaborated to create an open European collaborative platform to strengthen the leading role of the European Semiconductor industry in the global economy and value chain.

The Silicon Europe partners have expressed their commitment to continue the cross-regional cooperation and have set up a Statute for a formal cooperation under the brand of Silicon Europe after the end of the funded period of the project. This also includes an opening towards clusters beyond the initial project partnership.

The next Silicon Europe Steering Committee meeting will be held on 5th October in Dresden. During this meeting, the partners will decide about membership applications and vote a new board.
