Lipotype awarded with Special Prize Emerging Industries
On July 2, 2015 the award ceremony of the “Special Prize Emerging Industries 2015” took place at the Dresden International Airport. As part of the futureSAX Innovation Summit, the prize was awarded by the Saxon State Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport. The Saxon State Minister for Economy, Martin Dulig, handed the Special Prize over to the winning company Lipotype.
The Dresden based SME Lipotype and its project “Finding lipid signatures for diseases” convinced the jury and won the first ranks which includes prize money of 15,000 euros. The laudation was held by the vice president of Silicon Saxony Gitta Haupold. In her speech, she highlighted the cross-thematic idea behind C3-Saxony and its perfect realization within Lipotype’s project.
The second prize, including 7,000 euros price money, was awarded to “ZellmechanikDresden”, a start-up dealing with an innovative technology to discover mechanical properties of cells. “VivoSensMedical” reached the third rank (3,000 euros) and convinced the panel of experts with their project called OvulaRing. Gitta Haupold acknowledged the high quality of all applicants which resulted in a difficult decision making process for the jury. All three projects made the step from an R&D project to at least a startup company and will get further incubation services by the cluster organizations biosaxony and Silicon Saxony as well as the AGIL GmbH Leipzig.
Opening the ceremony C3-Saxony’s new image video premiered in front of the Saxon innovation community.
All qualified participants of the cross cluster cooperation project “C3-Saxony” were allowed to apply for the Special Prize. Fifteen projects applied for the “Special Prize Emerging Industries 2015” and were evaluated by a high-level panel of experts including research and business representatives in life sciences and ICT.
