DENSO is a leading supplier of automotive technology, systems and components for OEMs. DENSO AUTOMOTIVE Deutschland was founded in Munich in 1984 and today has its main locations in Eching, an industrial area in the north of Munich, and in Wegberg near Aachen. DENSO also has a number of sales offices in Germany, located in Wolfsburg, Leinfelden-Echterdingen (near Stuttgart), Mörfelden-Walldorf (near Frankfurt a.M.) and Cologne.
The Eching site has test facilities such as climatic chambers, acoustic chambers for components and vehicles, component test benches and a state-of-the-art wind tunnel. In 2005, the Aachener Ingenieurzentrum (AEC), located in Wegberg, was opened and is responsible for the development of the powertrain, in particular diesel fuel injection and exhaust aftertreatment. Since 2010, the AEC has been working on the development of control units and components for electric and hybrid vehicles. The test facilities include transient engine test benches, dynamometers for emission tests, test benches for common rail pumps and injectors, and the required workshops.
