Silicon Saxony Activities
Silicon Saxony since January 1 under new leadership
Since January 1, 2019, Frank Bösenberg now also took over the business management of the Saxon high-tech network. He introduced himself in person during the first Open Office Day on December 13 and stated: "I am looking forward to working closely with our currently 348 members. Together we can and will achieve a lot in future for the location of Saxony and the local high technology. " For the time being, the team from Silicon Saxony e. V. wishes all members a successful start into the new year and looks forward to the upcoming challenges.
A good day for Saxony
On 18 December, the European Commission approved the promotion of microelectronics under an Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI). Now, companies from France, Italy, United Kingdom and Germany can be supported in their research and development activities until the first commercial use of new microelectronic applications. Thus, the way is clear for a subsidy of the Federal Government in the amount of 1 billion euros.
An emotional evening is behind us, because on 28.11.2018 we bid farewell to our "woman of the first hour", Gitta Haupold. After 18 successful years, she handed the baton to the younger generation. With Frank Bösenberg, a well-known face of the industry network moves into the newly elected board and will lead the Silicon Saxony office.
SEMICON Europe 2018
With 32 exhibitors, the Saxon microelectronics and ICT network Silicon Saxony e. V. presented itself at the SEMICON Europa in Munich from 13th to 16th November 2018. Numerous new achievements and smart solutions of the association's members made the large-scale joint booth stand a visitor magnet.
Silicon Saxony strengthens contact with China
Silicon Saxony traveled to China from October 30 to November 2 with a delegation of companies, research institutes, public institutions and politicians to attend the 2018 Sino-German SME Cooperation and Communication Conference in Jinan. The industry association made important economic and political contacts locally, and many doors opened in one of China's largest industrial regions - the Jinan high-tech zone.
