The microelectronics landscape in Saxony has a long tradition and is developing more successfully than ever after major structural upheavals, also and especially in connection with reunification and the end of the GDR. Because the future is always based on the past, we have made it our task to bundle knowledge, preserve history and give it a face - or rather many faces.
For this reason, we founded the Silicon Saxony Alumni, which officially met and exchanged ideas for the first time on 26 October 2022.
Concrete topics and regular exchange
Our aim is to build an alumni circle that can be involved in the following topics in the future:
- Supporting the Technical Collections in the cataloguing of historical documents, photos and objects - we are looking for people who are able to provide information on specific exhibits. Also wanted are people who came to Saxony after 1990 and are willing to reflect on their perspective at that time.
- Collection of ideas for promoting the preservation of historical objects and documents
- Participation in the promotion of young researchers
- Exchange on exciting stories from 60 years of microelectronics in Saxony, which we can tell in our media or to interested members of the press.
Regular meetings are planned every three months, initially in the tower café of the Technical Collections. We will inform you about the date of the next event as soon as it is known.
The Silicon Saxony Alumni are looking forward to participation
